It is the primary responsibility of the Legal Counsel to perform, at the direction of a designated Vice President & Legal Counsel and other senior department attorneys (as applicable), professional legal work related to assigned matters for MGM Resorts International and subsidiary organizations.
- Supports leasing, real estate and other transactional activity, including drafting and negotiating leases, real property agreements, purchase and sale agreements, coordination and review of title and survey work and support of construction matters
- Drafts, negotiates and reviews a variety of agreements relating to the Company’s on-going real estate matters and related transactions
- Assist with Company leasing and management agreements for retail and food and beverag e tenants as well as general Company leasing matters for ground leases, warehouse and office space
- Provide sound, well-reasoned legal advice to the Company’s various groups
- Develops and maintains strong business relationships among the various internal business groups requiring legal support
- Demonstrate leadership and team-working skills in support of a collaborative environment
- Supervise staff on work assignments
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment commensurate with specialized legal skills and experience
- Performs other job related duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible real estate/transactional legal practice
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Juris Doctor Degree
- Significant experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements including the full range of l easing documentation
- Highest standards of ethics and integrity
Preferred:
- International transactions and business experience
- Experience in supervising and coordinating outside counsel and other advisors both nationally and internationally
- 5+ years of real estate/leasing experience from a top law firm
- Previous experience working in a resort setting or with resort clients
