Job Summary
Responsible for self-pay collections when the patient is uninsured or there is a residual patient balance after insurance, making financial arrangements and informing patients of all coverage options, such as M edicaid or charity care. Ensures reimbursement to Air Methods from patients or other responsible parties and assist patients in understanding their healthcare insurance coverage and any patient liability. Make final determinations on collectability and balances.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
- Manage all incoming/outgoing calls from/to patients/guarantors, insurance companies, and attorneys. Transfer calls to the appropriate department, if necessary.
- Thoroughly review, document, and resolve all customer communications.
- Provide information to customers about coverage options and payment options.
- Other Duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to three yearsâ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-3 yearsâ experience in healthcare billing/collections field with knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare programs and commercial insurances preferred
- 1 year experience in high dollar collection and financial debt counseling
- Previous Dialer experience

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Provide excellent customer service to include compassion and empathy while focusing on account resolution.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Advanced customer service and phone skills
- Ability to multi-task efficiently, works in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and has a strong attention for detail
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Computer Skills
- Intermediate with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- American Association of Healthcare Administration Management (AAHAM) certified within 6 months of hire
