The incumbent frequently exchanges information, both verbally and in writing with non-exempt and professional level employees and may exchange information wit! h outside parties, including, but not limited to, attorneys, outside consultants, regulatory agency and other official investigators. The incumbent must be able to negotiate with claimants and others.
This position requires availability to respond to emergency calls on a 24-hour basis. Work may involve some travel to various locations inside and outside service territories.
Note: This position may be required to work shift work, staggered work week, holidays and overtime.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for conducting investigations of incidents involving legal liability, property damage, and employee injuries. This position conducts division safety, environmental and security programs in support of a safe working environment while ensuring compliance with state, federal and regulatory authorities. Special emphasis may be focused on one or more of these areas of responsibility.
Conduct investigations of incidents involving lega! l liability, property damage, employee injury, environmental a! nd security issues
Assist Corporate Legal Affairs in the resolution of major claims and the defense of litigation
Coordinate response, reporting and remediation of environmental incidents
Ensure division compliance with applicable Company policies, local, state and federal regulations relating to safety, environmental and security issues
Negotiate and settle claims
Conduct the Division environmental program to ensure state and federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) compliance, employee safety, and environmental training
Conduct the Division security program, including coordination of contract security personnel and facility access control, to ensure authorized access to Company facilities
Coordinate and conduct the Division billable line break recovery program
Serve as the Division Emergency Response Coordinator
Serve as the Division Environmental Response Coordinator and ensure the remediation of all accidental environmental spill! s
Provide data and assist in the preparation of responses to data requests from appropriate regulatory agencies
Coordinate and accompany outside agency representatives during OSHA and environmental inspections
Coordinate the processing of Workers’ Compensation claims
Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires availability to respond to emergency calls on a 24-hour basis. Work may involve some travel to various locations inside and outside service territories. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
The Investigator II position requires three to five years of relevant work experience.
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is preferred.
