The primary responsibility of the Staff Attorney â€" Complianceis to work as a member of the Compliance Department that is responsible for complying with statutory and regul! atory requirements under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Company’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Perform such corporate compliance responsibilities as are assigned from time to time by the Chief Compliance Officer;
Assist in the monitoring of compliance with applicable laws through training and other means
Develop expertise in FCPA, OFAC and AML including due diligence, reporting requirements and T&E standards.
Acquire or possess knowledge of various statutory and regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, anti-money laundering (AML) obligations arising under 31 C.F.R. Chapter X (Title 31), guidance and decisions of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FINCEN), recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), and the AML requirements of the jurisdictions in which affiliates of the Company operates (Foreign AML Requirem! ents);
Review and obtain data in order to prepare rep! orts and cause the same to be filed as required by Title 31;
Examine data produced by other departments to determine whether the data has been produced in compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) developed for Title 31 compliance including examining the processes employed by other departments to determine that the SOPs are being followed as designed and as may be improved;
Maintain familiarity with changes to Title 31, future guidance and decisions of FINCEN, standards developed by FATF and changes to Foreign AML Requirements.
