Our Workers Compensation Claims Representatives will:
o Conduct investigations relating to on-the-job injury claims.
o Use the latest technology, including claims handling software, to establish fair recovery amounts and negotiate settlements.
o Use strong customer service skills to negotiates settlement of claims.

If you have the following:
o Bachelors Degree.
o Prior workers compensation claims experience.
o Excellent organizational, customer service, time management, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
o Outgoing personality that would enjoy interacting with a wide variety of people including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, medical and legal professionals, and fraud investigators.

Position Requirements

In a typical day a Workers’ Compensation claims representative:

• investigates on-the-job injury claims;
• interacts with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, agents, medical ! professionals, attorneys

and other legal personnel, and others involved in the claims process;

• negotiates settlement of on-the-job injury claims;
• refers possible fraudulent claims to the company’s special investigators; and
• identifies financial recovery opportunities.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

To succeed, a Workers’ Compensation CR must:

• possess excellent organizational, time management, negotiation and problem-solving skills;
• obtain and maintain an adjuster’s license in states that require licensing;
• be proactive, assertive and open-minded;
• be curious and eager to ask “why?”; and interested in learning about physical injuries, medical

terminology, medical treatment protocols and the medical claims process;

• be able to work both independently and as part of a team;
• be an excellent communicator who writes well a! nd is comfortable talking with people;
• enjoy interacting with ! co-workers, policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, medical and legal

professionals, and fraud investigators; and

• be computer-savvy: able to quickly learn and use both Farmers-proprietary and industry software.
