This examination will establish an Open Competitive and Promotional list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by the Office of Human Resources.

MINIMUM R! EQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience: Possession of a certificate of admission to the Bar of the State of Nevada and eligibility to practice law before the courts of the State of Nevada at time of hire.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon the results of a background investigation, which may include both a pre-and post offer background check for positions within the District Attorney's O! ffice.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Attorney will be assigned to represent and advise the Clark County Department of Family Services (DFS). Perform legal research, interpret and apply law, court decisions and legal points and authorities for use in child abuse and neglect cases litigated in Family Court. Conduct trials on petitions of child abuse and/or neglect pursuant to NRS 432B and petitions on termination of parental rights pursuant to NRS 128. Provide legal advise on DFS policy and procedure, adoptions and foster care licensing issues. Confer with and present evidence on behalf of DFS in administrative hearings. Assist the agency with compliance with all federal laws and regulations including, the Indian Child Welfare Act, CAPTA, ASFA and ICPC. Prepare and argue appeals to the Nevada Supreme Court.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, vision to read printed materials and a comp! uter screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over th! e telephone. Stand for prolonged periods of time. Speak in a clear and comprehensible manner. Hear and respond to questions posed.
