Certified Medical Assistant - NKDHC

Under the direction of the Office Coordinator, the Certified Medical Assistant (Spanish/English) will be responsible for performing general medical assistant functions in support of the care and treatment of patients while providing assistance to all office personnel as needed.

Responsibilities:
Perform patient care activities, such as back office check-in, check-out, prescription refills, anemia management, procedure schedules and patient education. Schedule 24 hour blood pressure monitoring. Interview patients, measure vital signs, such as p! ulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height, and me! dication list; record information in patients charts/IC-Chart to include urine tests per clinitek. Draw patients blood. Notify physician of changes in patients clinical status and/or abnormal test results. Process medical record requests from patients, referring physician offices and attorneys. Check in patients efficiently, collecting and recording co-pays and appropriate insurance information. Provide financial counseling to patients as needed. Prepare new patient charts and process all phases of chart preparation in a timely manner. Maintain positive working relationships with primary care physicians and referring physician offices. Monitor dictation process by maintaining accurate dictation logs, ensuring physician review and signature, mailing report and scanning dictation into patient files. Complete clerical tasks, including but not limited to, distributing mail and reports, filing, scanning, scheduling, data input, answering phones and general support to all office ! personnel. Maintain office equipment, and office and medical supplies through efficient inventory management. Facilitate annual purging process of patient charts. Process Hospital Disposition Report. Mail recall and no-show letters to patients; follow up with patients and/or primary care physician as needed. Obtain consult information, relay as needed and confirm consult completion with physician. Qualifications:

Current certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent experience with excellent customer service and communication skills for interfacing with patients, staff and outside vendors. 2+ years back office experience preferred. Ability to support a pleasant, positive and cooperative teamwork environment, as well as support our Company's Corporate Mission, Core Values and Vision required. Knowledge of Medical Manager, Electronic Medical Records and/or IC-Chart software. Minimum data entry rate equivalent to 35 words per minute. Ability to prioritize and use! diplomacy skills coupled with the ability to multi-task and lift and/o! r move 20 pounds is essential. Must be able to use a stethoscope, computer, scanner, printer, telephone, fax and copier. All skills, abilities and education will be considered for minimum qualifications. Benefits:
