Sr. Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm
Compensation : DOE
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for investigating and settling moderate-to-difficult claims for assigned lines of business promptly and equitably under minimal supervision. Reviews coverageâs, determines liability and compensability, secures information, and arranges property damage appraisals and settling claims using the claims best practices. Set reserve and recommend reserve changes to supervisor and Company Attorneys in preparing cases for litigation.
Position Duties! May Include:
- Receive claim assignment, confi! rms policy coverage and directs acknowledgement of claims
- Interprets and make decisions using independent judgment on more complex and unusual policy coverageâs and determines if coverageâs apply to claims submitted
- Investigate claims to determine validity and verify extent of damage by telephone contact with clients, claimants, witnesses or other parties as required
- Analyze claims activity and prepares reports for clients/carriers and management
- Establish reserves, using independent judgment and expertise and authorizes payments within scope of authority, settling claims in the most cost effective manner and ensuring timely issuance of disbursements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- 5 to 8 years of claims experience
- Workers Compensation (WC) Adjuster License required according to jurisdictional requirements, Navada (WC) license required
- Work! er's Comp â" Technical claims investigations/settling experience
- Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze information, determine a course of action and implement the selected course of activity
- Effective interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external clients
- Industry designations preferred, but not required (IIA, AIC, AEI, and/or CPCU)
