SBA Loan Processor Assistant
Summary: Assist the SBA Loan Processors in the preparation of SBA loan files, SBA loan application documents, and SBA loan closing documents. Aid the SBA Loan Processors in performance of support duties which include: obtaining credit, financial and other pertinent data; obtaining title and lien searched, tax transcripts, and other forms required for the loan package. Follow-up on Needs list items for SBA Loan Processor in order to speed the closing of SBA loans.
Essential job duties are listed below:
1. Assist in the file preparation, loan documentation preparation, and then reviewing documents for accuracy and ensuring all conditions of the SBA loan authorization are met.
2. Ensure Bank's UCC's are filed and in the proper lien position prior to funding. Secure any UCC terminations that are required prior to funding.
3. Responsible for ordering and/or securing the following: Flood Verifications, IRS Verifications, UCC Searches, Judgment and loan searches, Title Insurance, Key Man Life Insurance Assignments, Appraisals (ordering and reviewing), Environmental Reports, Account Payoffs, Documents from the Secretary of State (Articles of Incorporation, Certificate of Existence, Fictitious Business Name filing, entity formation documents, etc.)
4. Must review this information for accuracy and to ensure Bank will be in the proper lien position and all SBA requirements are met.
5. Responsible for collecting from the borrowers and closing agents any items required in order to close the loan in compliance with the SBA requirements.
6. Ensure that the loan is closed in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SBA Loan Authorization, including but not limited to: Verifying Cash Injection, Calculate final loan fees, Verify with insurance agents that proper coverage and Loss Payable Clauses are in place, Verify that we are in the correct lien positions, Draw any 327 Actions/Unilateral letters that are needed for any (name changes, disbursement changes, etc.), Coordinate closing with the loan officer, borrower, broker, attorney closing agent, etc.
7. Responsible for paying SBA guarantee fees within 90 days of SBA approval on all approved loans. Must retain documentation to support that payment was made.
8. Prepare all SBA loan packaging documents and making sure they are in compliance with SBA SOP 50-10.
9. Respond to customer's inquiries about loan application and closing status.
10. Individual must have thorough knowledge of the SBA SOP 50-10 and stay abreast of changes in regulations concerning the SBA program.
11. Determine the funding conditions for approved loans in accordance with the terms of the SBA loan authorization and the Bank's credit memo.
12. Interact with credit underwriters on any issues that require credit approval.
13. Responsible for preparing PLP submission package and interacting with the SBA PLP center to gain a loan approval number.
14. Responsible for deciding when funding conditions are met and when the loan is eligible to be disbursed.
15. Interact with sales officers to insure loan closes in a timely manner and that all required documentation is received from the customer.
16. Verify the required equity injection on all approved loans in accordance with the SBA loan authorization.
17. Interact with local SBA offices on SBA loan applicants with 912 issues.
18. Prepare a complete file for GP and CLP loans for submission directly to the local SBA District office.
19. Able to work under tight time deadlines and handle pressure without sacrificing quality.
20. Special projects and all other duties as directed by management.
Organizational Relationships:
Daily contact with SBA Manager, SBA Credit Analysts, BDO's, SBA OPS Manager, Loan Processors and Team Leaders in loan processing. Moderate contact with Servicing & Liquidation Officer, SBA Sales Specialist and SBA Sales Manager.
External Business Relationships:
Heavy telephone and e-mail contact with customers, appraisers, and title companies.
Language Skills: Must be able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Demonstrate the ability to write reports and business correspondence. Exhibit the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all Bank personnel and customers.
Mathematical Skills: Must possess the ability to compute and apply mathematical concepts, calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, calculate payments and run amortizations. Understand financial statements and tax returns in order to complete necessary SBA forms. Reasoning Ability: Exhibit the ability to apply common sense in dealing with problems and ascertain a solution to variable situations. Meeting deadlines is essential to this job. Interpersonal Skills: Must possess high degree of customer service and communication skills for interaction with internal and external customers, and Bank personnel. Must be able to take direction and assist numerous SBA Loan Processors with several loan files simultaneously. Computer Skills: Requires excellent computer skills and software knowledge of Windows, Laser Pro, Word and Excel. Education/Experience : Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school. Position requires a minimum one (1) year of bank experience with that time being spent in documentation/lending. Must exhibit a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail and work under tight time deadlines.
