Description: Nevada Employee Action and Timekeeping System is hiring MANAGEMENT ANALYST III right now, this vacancy will be situated in Nevada. Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislati! ve analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis. Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action. will report directly to the Chief Deputy Director. This position will be the subject and technical expert on production of the Department's statutorily required tax expenditure report.
This position will also be responsible for the publication and periodic revisions to the Department's technical bulletins setting forth information relating to the taxes administered by the Department and certain written opinions received from the Attorney General. The technical bulletins will include information and guidance concerning specific issues or topics relevant to taxpayers, examples of taxability for clarification purposes and other information that may be beneficial to the public. This position will also serve as the design c! oordinator/manager of an internal system to track, store and a! ccess taxpayer communications statewide so that we operate more efficiently and consistently. The incumbent will also work with all Department sections to make sure that each Division is promulgating the required regulations and ensure the Department complies with NRS 233B.
Responsibilities include all facets of the regulatory process, including research, reviewing draft language, and participating in hearings. will also have additional tasks assigned by the Chief Deputy and will supervise one administrative position and the Accountant Technician who receives and processes final billings and audit redeterminations. NOTE: Per NV State Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of 48 hours per year (part-time prorated) through June 30, 2015. To see full Class Specifications visit: To Qualify: In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements: Education and Experience (Minimum Qualification! s) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR one year experience as a Management Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Notes Appointment to any level in this series requires successful completion of a written examination. Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 7 years of experience of which 2 years were at the paraprofessional level and 5 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered e! mployment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Additional Position Experience Experience with applying the statutory and regulatory provisions within Title 32 related to the taxes administered by the Department of Taxation.
