Criminal Investigators in the Attorney General's Investigations Division conduct fraud investigations involving violations of federal and/or State laws perta! ining to a specific program or regulatory area such as Medicaid fraud, workers' compensation fraud, consumer protection or other areas; and investigate alleged criminal offenses committed by State officers or employees. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. **Applicants from this list may be selected to underfill an AG Criminal Investigator II position, and may be auto-progressed to the II level (pay grade 38) upon successfully meeting the minimum qualifications for th II.** The investigator will be required to function independently and fulfill a wide range of duties with the direction and supervision of the Executive Director. Investigator may conduct background investigations on applicants, investigate complaints concerning licensees, unlicensed persons and unlicensed activity prepare and serve subpoenas, prepare and submit reports in a timely manner and testify before the ! Board.
This position will also be expected to plan, c! oordinate and execute enforcement details. is required to type reports and submit in a timely manner and assist the Northern staff when necessary. The successful applicant will be expected to conduct criminal investigations relating to Boards and Commissions, State employees, Open Meeting Law Violations, Public Integrity Investigations, High Tech Crimes, computer crimes, Identity theft Crimes, crimes occurring within the prisons walls and conflict of interest cases as assigned. Duties also include criminal matters which fall within NRS 228.
Applicants must have the ability to maintain a large caseload and possess exceptional case management skills. To see full Class Specifications visit: To Qualify: In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements: Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, police science, or closely related field; OR graduation from high school! or equivalent education and two years of investigative experience involving standard investigative and enforcement techniques utilized to enforce local, state and/or federal laws and regulations; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Notes AG Criminal Investigator I's must obtain and maintain Nevada POST Category II certification within one year of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment Special Requirements Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, positions in this series have been identified as affecting public safety.
