Employee/Labor Relations
team at the property, which is the first stop for business leaders conc! erning their specific HR needs and objectives. This position partners with property management to ensure HR processes support and align with the leaders' business unit goals and objectives. The HR Senior Business Partner ensures that HR plans and procedures are administered properly through the HR Business Partners, including adherence to all corporate, federal and state labor laws, and employment requirements. The HR Senior Business Partner supports the Property culture to align with its' individual brand while also supporting the One Company Culture. All duties are performed in accordance with property and policies, practices and procedures.
Oversees and directs the
Employee Relations Department
at the property; ensures HR plans and procedures are implemented and administered properly for all employees; communicates and models the organizationâs mission, vision and values.
Develops, evaluates and implements new approaches and/or proce! dural changes to effect continual improvements in efficiency o! f the department and the services performed in anticipation of changing business and customer needs.
Partners with business leaders to identify their specific HR needs and objectives and collaborates with HR leadership teams at the property and/or corporate to meet those objectives.
Works with departments and employees to ensure the administration and interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement(s) and participates in the grievance process as necessary.
Develops and implements human resources policies and procedures as appropriate; ensures the employee handbook is updated and that all documents are accessible and posted as required.
Conducts employee relations counseling and outplacement counseling as appropriate; conducts exit interviews and provides turnover reports and analysis, including recommendations based on findings.
Collaborates with and builds relationships across functional divisions, Corporate Entities, prop! erties and key external stakeholders.
Ensures a thorough investigation occurs and appropriate recommendations given for all sexual harassment or discrimination complaints.
Liaison with corporate and outside labor attorneys in answering charges from federal or state agencies including Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Nevada Equal Rights Commission (NERC).
Liaison with corporate and outside labor attorneys on employment issues and serve as a company representative in arbitration and legal proceedings as needed.
Assists in developing organizational strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to property strategic thinking and direction; and supporting human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.
Performs all other job related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
At least 6 ye! ars of Human Resources experience as a Generalist or related experience! .
At least 2 years of experience administering and interpreting collective bargaining agreements.
Ability to work independently and to deal with ambiguity is critical.
Ability to coach and counsel various levels of employees
Ability to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude.
Ability to resolve conflict and mediate as needed.
Ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Use discretion when working with confidential information.
Strong leadership abilities, sound judgment, superior problem solving and decision making skills to effectively manage the HR Business Partner team.
Excellent organizational, analytical and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, individ! ually and in groups.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to lead and mentor a team.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Extensive knowledge of state and federal employment law, including Americans with Disability Act, National Labor Relations Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, etc.
Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or a similar field or equivalent education and experience.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Preferred:
Previous Hospitality experience
Previous Employee and/or Labor Relations experience.
Previous WorkDay or other SAS software experience.
Master Degree in Human Resources or similar field.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
