Further informations about this job opportunity kindly see the descriptions. The Security Manager oversees the security associates and shuttle drivers. The Security Manager is responsible for facilitating the safety and security of own! ers, guests, associates and company assets. The Security Manager is also responsible for the Loss Prevention Program as directed by the Sr. Director of Safety and Security for Bluegreen Vacations. Additionally, the Security Manager is a liaison between on site retail tenants and Bluegreen Club 36 in matters concerning general safety and security.
- Provides a safe and secure environment for all occupants and employees of the property by ensuring that the property is maintained in accordance with all laws, regulations and codes pertaining to security and safety.
- Directs and oversees the implementing of all security and safety programs for the purpose of providing protection and a sense of well being to all guests and employees.
- Conducts security inspections, drills, and departmental training.
- Evaluates security programs and recommends changes for improvement.
- Managing and Supervising the day to day physical security operati! ons safeguarding company buildings, grounds, assets, employees! , resort guests, and visitors.
- Conduct frequent property walks inspecting, reporting, correcting physical security measures.
- Ensure that the security staffing, security systems, fire safety systems, security procedures, and safety plans are in effect to minimize criminal activity, accidents, fires, and natural disasters.
- Identify resort safety training needs and develop and facilitate training for all resort associates on safety and security issues to ensure compliance with all Company loss control policies and security and safety regulations. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and preventative measures. Develop, revise, and advise key personnel of emergency procedures.
- Maintain Safety Training records for all resort associates.
- Maintain all Safety records related to the resortâs vehicles.
- Establish and maintain documentation and confidential reporting systems to ensure that appropriate investigation documentation a! nd results are available for current litigation/settlement and future reference. Establish necessary and pertinent incident reports or information to police and fire agencies involving investigations and to the Corporate Legal department, Claims Management department, insurance agencies and outside attorneys to assist in case evaluation, settlement or defense involving lawsuits against the Company.
- Is responsible for enacting the Company's emergency response and evacuation plan in fire incidents, bomb threats, hazardous materials incidents, natural disasters, inclement weather, infrastructure failures, and acts of terror. Serves as the representative for the property in charge of the scene in these incidents. Serves as official contact with community fire departments and law enforcement agencies in these incidents and keeps Property and Corporate Management advised and informed of these incidents.
- Ensure that all loss and safety incidents involving custome! rs, vendors and/or employees are thoroughly investigated. Establish and! maintain procedures to prevent/minimize the loss from theft and other safety risk or litigation against the company.
- Ensure compliance with Workers Compensation regulations for all work related incidents as well as annual reporting.
- Prepare annual operating and capital budgets for the department that reflect departmental and company goals and objectives. Ensure department operates within approved budget, ensure budgeted man-hours are achieved and ensure the resortâs vehicle fleet is maintained in a cost-effective manner. Prepare, input and submit accurate weekly payroll and other required documentation to the corporate office.
- Coordinates salary, equipment budgets, and staff training to maximize Safety/Security goals in line with company financial objectives.
- Perform security audits, reviews procedures and constantly evaluates facility activity/operations for security weaknesses that may reduce the facilities overall security posture. ! Reports safety related issues and recommendations to the Property Management for corrective action.
- Perform quarterly Best Practices inspection and submit checklist on time.
- Coordinate all Business License and other permits related inspections with the Maintenance and Housekeeping departments and the authorities involved.
- Overseeing the interview, selection and training process of new employees. Ensure the continuous development and improvement of staff member skills and work techniques meeting company safety and security specifications and expectations related to guest interaction, reporting, investigation and emergency response. Assign duties and schedule staff, balancing needs of property and productivity standards. Monitor staff activity and development. Administer written disciplinary action and administer coaching to staff members to improve performance. Completing written annual performance evaluations for security and shuttle staff. Oversee the management of the key and card access systems for resort! guest buildings, offices, storage areas, and facilities. Maintain a data base of key and access card holders and apply appropriate security measures in adherence with written company policy/procedures.
- Maintain Onity lock system and facilitate repairs and associate training as needed.
- Maintains current knowledge in the field of management/safety/security; establishes, implements and updates property/security/safety related policies and procedures; complies with federal, state and local laws and regulations; follows all safety precautions/standards and company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for taking action and decision making to bring resolution to all pertinent safety/security issues.
- Oversee all Lost & Found procedures and activity.
- Oversee and coordinate the receipt of all company and guest packages as well as product deliveries.
- Coordinate trash removal for the entire site.
- Develop and maintain profe! ssional working relationship with LVMPD and CCFD.
- This position involves heavy contact with resort guests, visitors, vendors, associates, supervisors, managers and local/state law enforcement and emergency personnel.
- This position involves heavy contact with property management and corporate personnel.
- Supervisory activities performed include: schedule and assign work; directly monitor/review work; counsel employees; conduct employee performance evaluations; hire/train employees; interview and recommend personnel action; administer disciplinary action/termination; authorize overtime, time off, etc.; develop and/or revise unit policies/procedures; establish performance standards; control expenditures; regularly schedule to cover shifts.
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Regional VP.
Requirements
Prefer a Bachelorâs Degree with major course work in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security or a closely related field; and/or five (5) years full-time experience performing supervisory responsibilities or highly responsible work relating to the security field.
5 Years Military, Law Enforcement or Security experience in a leadership position. 3 Years Customer Service experience
Prefer knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry and OSHA 1926 Construction Industry standards.
Posses valid State Driverâs License.
Possess current CPR, AED and First Aid Certification.
Sheriffâs Card (if applicable).
Must have knowledge of local laws, investigation methods, OSHA requirements and fire/safety codes.
Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.
Knowledge of security policies a! nd procedures sufficient to be able to identify and eliminate potentially unsafe situations.
Knowledge of investigative techniques sufficient to be able to conduct comprehensive investigations and provide information from investigations in court.
Perform the duties of subordinate personnel as required, and at all times, uses best efforts in the performance of duties.
Knowledge of legal methods, security equipment, policies and procedures of law enforcement, investigations and court proceedings.
Knowledge of principles and practices of security management, including business management practices, personnel practices, administrative practices, security preventative practices, investigatory practices, and related legal responsibilities. Principles and practices of supervision, including assigning, evaluating and modifying work; functions and processes of carrying out programs; and content and formatting of reports.
Excellent interpersonal skills w! hen dealing with guests, associates, government authorities and managem! ent of all levels. Ability to make quick decisions and stay calm in in stressful situations. Ability to anticipate guest needs.
