Senior Associate General Counsel - Legal Duties: Provide sound, well-reasoned legal advice to the Company s various business groups. Review, negotiate, and draf! t commercial contracts. Develop and maintain strong business relationships as a key relationship manager for the corporate legal department among the various internal business groups requiring legal support. Ensure the EVP/General Counsel and VP/Deputy General Counsel, along with other senior attorneys (including the General Counsels of MGM Resort affiliates), are kept apprised of material developments and matters on a timely basis, exercising sound business and legal judgment. Demonstrate leadership and team-working skills in support of a collaborative environment. Supervise less experienced attorneys, paralegals and staff on work assignments. Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Requirements: A Juris Doctorate degree and active state bar membership. Previous hospitality/gaming experience. Previous in-house experience. Experience with the supervision of other attorneys and legal staff. Previous experience working in a similar resort setting. 5+ yea! rs of relevant legal experience. Experience with corporate tra! nsactions and the negotiation of commercial contracts (experience should include completing commercial contract negotiations without direct supervision from a more senior attorney) preferred. Experience in a fast-paced corporate legal/transaction group a plus. Must be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills and business acumen. Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. Competency with MS Word and Outlook and experience with Excel and PowerPoint. Must be able to communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
