Provides guidance to corporate departments and property human resources/operations regarding a broad range of immigration matters.
Recommends and develops ! immigration related policies, procedures and practices necessary to ensure compliance with the law and which reflect best practices relative to management of immigration matters.
Builds solid, proactive working relationships with internal customers.
Interacts with and acts as liaison between corporate and property personnel and external legal counsel and other service providers.
Gathers and provides necessary information to external legal counsel to facilitate filing of various non-immigrant and immigrant petitions.
Protects the interests of the Company by ensuring departmental compliance with immigration related policies and procedures as well as with laws, regulations and other governmental guidelines.
Works closely with Corporate Human Resources Compliance personnel on Immigration Compliance matters.
Keeps General Counsel of Labor and Employment and Vice President of Labor Relations advised of significant issues and/or problems that jeopardize the! achievement of Company goals, which place the Company at risk! , and/or which are not being adequately addressed by management personnel.
Contributes substantively to training curriculum development regarding effective management of day to day immigration matters including Form I-9 Completion and E-Verify usage.
Is an effective and engaging public speaker who will at times be tasked with delivering training to audiences on immigration related subject matters.
Performs other job related duties as assigned. -----
Required:
At least 2 years of immigration paralegal experience and a certificate of completion or degree from a paralegal certificate education program or other post-secondary institution.
Must have experience with use, management and compliance with E-Verify.
Must have working knowledge of federal, state and local laws and, under the supervision of Department attorneys, ability to provide timely guidance on laws and regulations affecting immigration matters.
Must have working knowledg! e of and ability to implement immigration related tasks, processes, and projects.
Strong leadership competency, superior decision making, analytical, problem solving and facilitation skills, and ability to develop strong and sustainable working relationships throughout the organization.
Must have excellent research and writing skills (candidate will be required to provide a writing sample).
Sound judgment and superior decision-making, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills; ability to meet prescribed deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and establish/maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, internal customers and external business partners.
Must be self-motivated and self-directed and able to work without direct supervision on assigned projects and tasks.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to interact effectively with internal customers, employees, applicants and external leg! al counsel and with government agencies.
Excellent customer service! s skills.
Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Outlook.
Must be able to effectively communication in English, in both oral and written forms.
Preferred:
Bachelorâs Degree and/or Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) designation.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
