FORENSIC LEGAL AUDITOR

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

Description: Clark County is presently looking of FORENSIC LEGAL AUDITOR right now, this career will be assigned in Nevada. More details about this career opportunity please read the description below. The successful candidate will start at the minimum of the salary range unless otherwise approved by the County Manager.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive and Promotional list to fill! current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by the Office of Human Resources.

Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application. Do not substitute a resume for your application or write "see attached resume" on your application.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration or a field related to the work AND four (4) years of full-time professional level experience in auditing or accounting, two (2) years of which were in a criminal/legal environment. Possession of an advanced degree in an appropriate field is desirable.

Licensing and Certification:
Certification as a Certified Public Accountant is required at time of application. Applications submitted without a copy of candidate's certification as! a Certified Public Accountant are incomplete and will not be ! considered.

Required certification may be faxed to 702-380-9891, or mailed/delivered to Clark County Human Resources, located within the Clark County Government Center at 500 Grand Central Parkway, 3rd Floor, Las Vegas, NV 89106. Candidate's name, recruitment title, and exam number must be clearly written on the certification.

Background Investigation:
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation, which may include both a pre-and post offer background check for positions within the District Attorney's Office. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Plans and conducts complex, specialized and investigative fraud investigations for the District Attorney's Office and other governmental entities/law enforcement agencies; exercises independence and considerable judgment and discretion within general policy guidelines in sensitive and confide! ntial situations. Reviews criminal fraud cases to determine adequacy of evidence and determines further action. Investigates complex financial crimes; obtains evidence; drafts proposed criminal charges. Testifies as an expert witness in criminal proceedings. Prepares financial summaries, charts, graphs and other exhibits for criminal fraud cases. Maintains accurate study records and files; prepares narrative and statistical reports of audit processes, findings, financial status, recommendations for actions and other matters; submits preliminary reports for supervisory review and comment; prepares final recommendations and correspondence as required. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team. Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of the work; may drive a personal or County motor vehicle to attend meetings and vis! it work locations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Mobility to wo! rk in a typical office setting, use standard office equipment, and capable of traveling to various County locations in order to visit work sites and attend meetings; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
