Proof of education must be provided with resume Position: Laboratory Supervisor Location: Las Vegas, NV Schedule: 7 am to 4 pm, M-F subject to business need Job Code: 8457 Positions works 20 hours per week in small one to two person STAT lab, and 20 hours per week in a client facility. Oversees 3-4 per diem technologists in the client facility. Oversees 1 technologist in stat lab. Perform tests, complete instrument maintenance, ensure CLIA/CAP compliance, and various other job duties. Some of the instruments used: Dimension, Immulite, Integra 400, Act-5, CA560, Elecsys 210 Administrative: Ability to relate professionally with people, analytical abilities, compose letters/memorandum, coordinate events, motivate others, organizational skills, research information, time management, train employees, written and verbal communications, supervisory skills. Machine: Testing instruments, calculator, personal computer. Speech clarity, utilization of fingers and hands, standing-remaining on one’s feet in an upright position, sitting-remaining in the normal seated position, handling-seizing, holding, grasping. Additional job duty (as assigned): (Hazardous Chemical Waste Management) Proper identification of known hazardous material in the work place. The knowledge of personal protection measures. The avoidance of accidents. The knowledge of hazardous waste characteristics, hazardous waste volume generation limits, accumulation limits, spill control measures, record keeping, proper handling and container management, labeling, container and storage inspection. Working Conditions: Possible exposure to infection from disease-bearing specimens; regularly exposed to the risk of blood-borne diseases; must comply with applicable safety procedures Far acuity-ability to see clearly at 20 feet or more; near acuity-ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less; depth perception-ability to judge distance and space relationships; color vision-ability to distinguish and identify different colors. Normally requires a B.S./B.A in either Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Sciences w/1-3 years of experience as a Laboratory Supervisor and 1-2 years as a Medical Technologist. ASCP certification preferred. Requires a State of Nevada General Supervisor license Travel is only between the STAT lab and the client facility. Very occasional travel to Phoenix, AZ for training purposes.
