DIRECTOR - EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

Description: ARIA Resort & Casino is at present recruited DIRECTOR - EMPLOYEE RELATIONS right now, this position will be reside in Nevada. More complete informations about this position opportunity please give attention to these descriptions. Oversee the daily operations of the Employee Relations department.

Direct the Employee and Labor Relations function by providing guidance, training, coaching, and mentoring to both Employee Relations Staff and Department Managers.

Develop and utilize analytical tools to assess the current work environment and implement proactive employee relations strategies to minimize the frequency of workplace concerns.

Develop, interpret, recommend, and implement policies, procedures, and practices which support overall business goals and objectives and are in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.

Oversee the administering and interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement and foster a productive work relationship with union representatives.

Serve as a liaison to Corporate and outside labor attorneys on employment issues and serve as a Company representative in arbitration and legal proceedings as needed.

Work closely with Corporate labor attorneys in responding to charges from federal or state agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Nevada Equal Rights Commission (NERC).

Provide oversight for any claims of sexual harassment, discrimination, or retaliation.

Assist with Corporate compliance initiatives, information requests, and reporting as it relates to employee and labor relations.

Oversee the administering and overall effectiveness of ARIA’s:

Worker’s Compensation and Alternate Duty programs

Employee Assistance and Financial Relief programs

Unemployment Insurance

Leave of Absence

Develop and conduct training programs to improve management effectiveness on employee and labor relations subject matters.

Help maintain a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.

Provide guidance and support to all CityCenter entities on employee and labor relations matters.

Other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
At least 3 years of management experience in a fast-paced, demanding human resources environment.

At least 5 years of overall experience in employee/labor relations, including 2 years operating under a collective bargaining agreement.

Effective and consistent communication methods and interpersonal skills in order to interact with all levels of management, employees, and outside contacts.

Must have a professional appearance and demeanor.

Mature, confidential approach to handling sensitive topics.

Ability to lead and mentor a team.

Must have extensive knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including the Americans with Disability Act, National Labor Relations Act, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Experience working with local, state and federal agencies.

Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Industrial Relations, Organizational Psychology, or a related field.

Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms.

Preferred:
Large-scale resort management experience.

Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Industrial Relations, Organizational Psychology, or related field.

Bilingual in Spanish.

Professional Human Resources certification such as SPHR/PHR or related credentials.

Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
